Flexy-Rent, what is it?

Flexy-Rent is a rental product that can be described as either long-term rental or a short -term contract. It is designed for customers who require a vehicle for a minimum of 1 month at a competitive price but didn’t want the commitment of a long-term contract hire.

Many customers use this produce whilst waiting for their new vehicle to arrive, pre contract replacement, company cars whilst staff are on probationary period, seasonal requirements for additional fleet or simply for longer term rentals.

What is the minimum hire period?

Each rental period is 1 month long unless otherwise stated and is referred to as a “rental period”, therefore, the minimum rental period the vehicle can be taken for is 1 month. Please note that we cannot offer refunds for unused days as quoted prices are based on the original rental period required.

Who is able to use Flexy-Rent?

Anybody can use Flexy-Rent that requires a vehicle (Standard Car, Prestige Can or Van) as long as the required minimum period is met and can meet our required terms and conditions.

How can I tailor my quote to suit my requirements?

Once you have chosen the category of vehicle, click on the image of the vehicle that most suits your requirement. You will see “Click here to tailor your quote”. You will be taken to screen which allows you to select a different 1 month period and monthly mileage. Simply choose what you need.

How do I pay for Flexi-Rent?

At the start of hire we require the cost of 1 x rental period as a deposit (returnable at rental termination) plus 1x rental period prior to commencement of hire. Some vehicles may be subject to a credit check.

AMT cannot guarantee availability of all vehicles due to demand, however we will always supply a similar vehicle to the one requested and only after informing you of availability.

All payments will be made by credit card, however in some cases we may accept a business cheque or company credit card for the deposit payment and any additional / extension payments will be collected every month. Please note: We cannot accept Visa Electron, Solo or any Pre-Paid Credit/Debit card.

How long does it take to organise and how does it work?

You can drive away the same day.

Once you have chosen your vehicle, your rental period and monthly mileage (See: “How can I tailor my quote to suit my requirements?”), click “booking request”, we will search for availability and contact you.

Then, we’ll send you the paperwork for your signature and payment details. Simply return the hire agreement along with a copy of your insurance certificate.

As soon as the documents are received we will arrange for the delivery of your vehicle to just about anywhere in the UK.

What about any additional costs?

As long as your chosen mileage allowance is not exceeded and the vehicle is returned with the same amount of fuel and no additional damage there should be no extra charges.

The only exceptions to this may be due to speeding or parking fines or if you require a delivery or collection outside of our normal office hours.

There should be no additional costs to pay, however we reserve the right to apply any additional charges that come to light after the hire has terminated.

What do I need to have with me if I collect the vehicle?

If you collect the vehicle from any one of our branches you will need a copy of your driving licence (both parts if picture card) and two utility bills displaying your home address (as displayed on your licence).

The more ID the better as it is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure they have the appropriate paperwork.

We reserve the right to refuse the vehicle unless the correct paperwork is provided at the time of collection.

What type of insurance is required?

Only fully comprehensive insurance is acceptable on our vehicles, and we will require an original certificate before you take possession of your vehicle.

Is there an excess on the vehicle insurance?

As all vehicles supplied through our Flexy-Rent programme are insured by you there is no excess applied by AMT, however we would recommend that you check with your insurance provider of any restrictions that your policy may have, this includes, what excess may apply.

How old are your vehicles?

Our car fleet is generally less than 12 months old. Commercial vehicles can be up to 18 months.

Will the vehicle be provided with fuel?

We provide the vehicle with an amount of fuel and request that you return the vehicle with the same amount at end of contract.

A surcharge will be levied per 1/8th tank: e.g. a vehicle supplied with a full tank must be returned with a full tank.

This means that we will not ask for a fuel deposit when the vehicle is dropped off to you.

What do I do in the event of an accident?

In the unfortunate event of an accident occurring with our vehicle you must get the details of the other party and contact us at AMT Accident Assist 0844 826 2314 and also inform your insurance company.

It is very important that the above actions are performed as soon after the accident as possible to avoid any complications with repairs to the vehicle.

What breakdown cover is provided?

Full 24-hour breakdown cover is provided at no extra cost.

Full instructions are provided at commencement of hire and can be found with your vehicle. Breakdown assistance numbers are found on your Rental Contract and the tax disc.

When are your vehicles serviced?

All vehicles are serviced in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s recommendations.

Do you have any cleaning charges?

All vehicles are fully valeted before each hire to ensure that you receive your vehicle in top condition.

There may be occasions where, on return, the vehicle is in an unacceptable condition. This would apply to additional internal blemishes or marks or if carrying pets. Please contact our reservation agents, prior to commencement, for more information is required.

Am I able to take the vehicle abroad?

If you are required to travel outside of the UK mainland you will need to contact us so that we can arrange a Travel Abroad document called a V103. We will need 2 working days to complete this. There may be additional charges to take the vehicle abroad. Please contact us on 08448262314

I am travelling to London, what is your policy on the congestion charges?

Any vehicle movement into, out of or within the marked charging zone ("CCZ") between 07:00hrs and 18:30hrs (Monday to Friday), is liable for a charge levied by Transport for London.

One payment per vehicle, per day is required, once the first payment is made, any number of journeys may be made that day into, out of or within the Congestion Charge Zone by that vehicle. The daily charge must be made by 22:00hrs on the day the movement was made, otherwise the charge increases.

If this is not paid before midnight, a Penalty Charge Notice will be issued. A discounted charge will apply if paid within 14 days). If the charge is not paid within a month, the charge further increases. Further details may be obtained from Transport for London's website: www.cclondon.com.

It is your responsibilities to pay for any vehicle movement, into, out of or within the CCZ up to and including the final day of hire.

Where we receive a Congestion Charge Notice, an administrative fee will be applicable.
